Itinerary
The 1-day Rwanda Gorilla Tour starts and ends in Kigali, the capital of Rwanda.
Journey from Kigali: Our driver will pick you from your hotel at 4.30 a.m. (you can pack your breakfast) to start on your 116 km journey to the Volcanoes National park where you will do your Gorilla trek. This journey takes 2-3 hours.
At the park: assignment to Gorilla group: On reaching the park offices, you will be briefed by park officials and assigned to a Gorilla group to track.
Tracking Gorillas: You will then be led into the forest by a ranger guide to track the Mountain Gorillas. The actual Gorilla trek may take anything from one to eight hours, depending on the movements of the primates.
Up close with the Gorillas: Once you locate the gorillas, you get to spend an hour with them. This is the highlight of your tour. Enjoy it.
You can take pictures (with no flash), or you could simply watch the gentle giants, their features, movements, gestures etc. It is such an intimate moment that the hour will seem to fly by. Make this adventure memorable in your own way; only keep in mind the Gorilla Trekking Etiquette.
