Day 1: Arriva, Kigali City Tour, Transfer to Volcanoes National Park

On your arrival in Kigali-Rwanda, you will meet our driver guide at the Airport who will brief you on your 4 days Rwanda double gorilla trek safari. Immediately after, you will start you 4 days double gorilla trekking Rwanda safari starts with a comprehensive tour of Kigali city particularly visiting the Kigali genocide memorial centers, Richard Kandt National Museum, and the local craft markets.

In the late afternoon after a 3-4 hours tour of Kigali city, you will transfer to the Volcanoes National Park – a prominent home to a section of rare mountain gorillas located in Musanze province northwest of Rwanda.

Day 2: First Mountain Gorilla Trek in Volcanoes National Park

Your first encounter with the gorillas on the 4 Days Rwanda Double Gorilla Trek will be today. After a sumptuous breakfast, you will drive to Kinigi park headquarters where you merge with other trekkers of the day to be briefed about the gorilla trekking rules and regulations by the park officials about the  On this day, make sure that you are in your long-sleeved shirt or t-shirt-(environmentally friendly attire), trouser tucked into socks with your walking stick as well as plenty of drinking water and energy-giving snacks.

You and 7 other members of the group will visit one of the 10 habituated groups setting off at exactly 8:00 am and lasts for about 1-6 hours of the hike depending on the nature of the movement of the mountain gorillas today. Once you have found the gorilla group you are trekking, you will have a maximum of only one hour with them. Use this moment to explore in-depth about their behaviors, body gestures and take their photos.

In the evening, you can embark on a nature walk to Twin Lakes-Lake Burera and Lake Ruhondo or simply remain at the lodge to have enough rest for tomorrow’s adventure.

Day 3: Second Gorilla Trekking in Volcanoes National Park

Breakfast in the morning and still as the previous day, take on the journey to the park headquarters for a gorilla trekking briefing process. Today, you will be assigned to a different gorilla family (from the one you visited the previous day) to trek in a group of 8 visitors and your group will be led by an experienced park ranger guide. After the one hour of magical encounter, get back to your lodge to have rest. In the evening, you will pay a visit to Iby’Iwacu Cultural Village for cultural experience-learn about the traditions, cultures of Rwandese.

Day 4: Golden monkey trekking and drive back to Kigali

Enjoy your breakfast at the lodge and later, you set off for golden monkey tracking or Dian Fossey tomb site hike. Later in the day, drive back to Kigali to catch up with your flight back or spend a night in a hotel in Kigali and this marks the end of 4 days Rwanda double gorilla trek.
