Day 1: Arrival, Kigali City Tour, Transfer to Ruhengeri

When you arrive at Kigali International Airport in Rwanda, you will meet a tour guide from our Rwanda tours and travel company who will transfer you to Kigali city for a brief city tour excursion. On this 4 days Rwanda gorillas and Golden Monkeys Safari, you will visit landmarks like the Kimironko market, Gisozi genocide memorial site, Caplaki crafts village, and many more other places.

In the late afternoon after a 3-4 hours tour of Kigali city, you will transfer to the Volcanoes National Park – a prominent home to a section of rare mountain gorillas located in Musanze province northwest of Rwanda.

Day 2: Mountain Gorilla Trekking in Volcanoes National Park

Your first encounter with the gorillas on the 4 Days Rwanda Double Gorilla Trek will be today. After a sumptuous breakfast, you will drive to Kinigi park headquarters where you merge with other trekkers of the day to be briefed about the gorilla trekking rules and regulations by the park officials about the  On this day, make sure that you are in your long-sleeved shirt or t-shirt-(environmentally friendly attire), trouser tucked into socks with your walking stick as well as plenty of drinking water and energy-giving snacks.

You and 7 other members of the group will visit one of the 10 habituated groups setting off at exactly 8:00 am and lasts for about 1-6 hours of the hike depending on the nature of the movement of the mountain gorillas today. Once you have found the gorilla group you are trekking, you will have a maximum of only one hour with them. Use this moment to explore in-depth about their behaviors, body gestures and take their photos.

In the evening, you can embark on a nature walk to Twin Lakes-Lake Burera and Lake Ruhondo or simply remain at the lodge to have enough rest for tomorrow’s adventure.

Day 3: Golden Monkey Tracking – Transfer to Gisenyi

This is yet another exciting day on your 4 days gorilla tour in Rwanda. Your breakfast meal will be served as early as on the previous day. You will then drive back to the park headquarters for another briefing meeting as on the second day. After your briefing meeting, you will go for your Golden monkey trekking experience. Golden monkey trekking takes place in Volcanoes National Park but is not as strenuous as mountain gorilla trekking. The activity lasts for two to five hours. After trekking golden monkeys, you will then transfer to Gisenyi to relax at leisure in Lake Kivu. Overnight stay at Paladis Malahide Hotel.

Day 4: Transfer to Kigali
